Abstract
This article discusses the arguments which seek to establish a rigid demarcation between anthropology and sociology at the level of theoretical-methodological approaches. To do so, the emergence of boundary-crossing as well as how co-operation and interdisciplinary activities have occurred at different historical moments is illustrated through several examples. The objective is to draw attention to how conceptions of discipline are presented and problematized in the educational arena, making this an invitation or re-invitation to reflect on the practices of the social sciences in general and how they have developed in national contexts.
