Abstract
Based on several interdisciplinary researches in the field of the administration of justice, it is proposed to apprehend different recent events that account for racism and intercultural conflict in the southern macro-region of Chile. The exploration of the different faces of the present and past interactions of the Mapuche with the state courts allows us to visualize not only a symbolic violence but also the formation of bonds of dependency and subjectivity where justice appears as both an ideal and a critical knot to achieve an equitable coexistence. We propose that intercultural studies constitute a tool that can contribute to generate social transformations towards an integral justice, a necessary first step towards the resolution of existing conflicts in our territories.
