| dc.description.abstract | El presente artículo busca proponer articulaciones teóricas para el estudio de las migraciones internacionales contemporáneas hacia la Región de La Araucanía, Chile. Para ello, se delimitan los enfoques que considero per-tinentes para el estudio en el contexto territorial señalado, caracterizado por la permanencia y vigencia de prácticas coloniales, el intento de exterminio/asimilación del pueblo mapuche y la existencia de disputas en torno a indus-trias extractivas. Teniendo en cuenta que históricamente la Región de La Arau-canía se configuró como un espacio de “Frontera”, el estudio de las fronteras sociales y simbólicas constituye un marco analítico que contribuye a pensar a las fronteras territoriales no sólo como límites geográficos, sino más bien como procesos socio históricos imbricados con múltiples dispositivos econó-micos, jurídicos y políticos que producen y moldean las marcas de sujeción. | |
| dc.description.abstracten | This article seeks to propose theoretical articulations for the stu-dy of contemporary international migrations to the Araucanía Region, Chile. To this end, there will be delimited the approaches that are considered per-tinent for the study in the territorial context indicated, characterized by the permanence and validity of colonial practices, the attempted extermination/assimilation of the Mapuche people and the existence of disputes over extrac-tive industries. Taking into account that historically the Araucanía Region was configured as a “Border” space, the study of social and symbolic borders cons-titutes an analytical framework that contributes to think of territorial borders not only as geographical boundaries, but rather as socio-historical processes intertwined with multiple economic, legal and political devices that produce and shape the marks of subjection. | |
