dc.description.abstract	Aproximadamente 500 millones de personas tienen el español como lengua materna, principalmente en Europa y América. A pesar de no existir diferencias sustanciales entre las variantes del español habladas en ambas regiones, se observa variación dialectal, un fenómeno lingüístico común, que incluye variación de aspectos como el vocabulario, la sintaxis o el discurso, entre otros. La falta de consideración de estas diferencias puede tener un impacto negativo tanto en la práctica como en la investigación en fonoaudiología. Esta revisión teórica tiene como objetivo revisar la variación dialectal en el contexto del quehacer fonoaudiológico, con el fin de orientar tanto la práctica como la investigación con hablantes de español. Para ello, se presentan ejemplos de variación dialectal entre países hispanohablantes en los distintos niveles del lenguaje y se ofrecen comentarios teóricos al respecto. También se comentan casos de variación dialectal a nivel nacional, procesos de contacto entre lenguas originarias y el español, así como la variación derivada de los procesos migratorios recientes.
dc.description.abstracten	Approximately 500 million people have Spanish as their native lan-guage, primarily in Europe and the Americas. Despite the absence of substan-tial differences between the variants of Spanish spoken in both regions, dia-lectal variation is observed, a common linguistic phenomenon encompassing aspects such as vocabulary, syntax, discourse, or intonation, among others. Disregarding these differences can negatively impact speech therapy practice and research.This work aims to review dialectal variation in the context of speech the-rapy to guide both practice and research with Spanish speakers. To this end, examples of dialectal variation among Spanish-speaking countries are presen-ted at various language levels, along with theoretical comments on the subject. Furthermore, cases of dialectal variation at a national level, language contact processes between indigenous languages and Spanish, and variation resulting from recent migratory processes are commented on.
