Abstract
Environmental problems require an approach adjusted to the real context so that critical analysis and proposals for alternatives make sense. In this area, dialogically defining possible solutions in temporary spaces is the focus of the Service-Learning (SA) methodology. With this strategy, the experience of students, teachers and members of a community or public institution is mobilized to work together and meet the needs of that community; integrating and applying academic knowledge. The objective of this study is to reassess the water importance of the Pilkoykem river basin in the commune of Angol, La Araucania region, Chile. To achieve this objective, we carried out a qualitative study, which adopts participatory action research. The researchers correspond to students of Middle Pedagogy in Natural Sciences and Biology of the Catholic University of Temuco and the Pewenkem Foundation.
