Abstract
The insertion of the Chilean forestry and agricultural sector in international trade (since the 1980s) created in Chile a regional specialization based on natural and social advantages of different subsectors in certain geographical areas, highlighting forestry activities and agro-fruit. The results of an analysis carried out from the CASEN survey (2017) are presented, which compares the income profile of domestic forestry and livestock workers in two groups of rural communes, defined by the presence of forestry and agro-fruit activities. A typology of household units is used to comparatively expose their sources of income. This analysis reveals territorial patterns of domestic units, correlative to the predominant agro-exporting subsectors and related to the particular insertion of these territories in the international division of labor.
