dc.description.abstractEste trabajo presenta los principales debates y reflexiones que giran en torno al uso del lenguaje inclusivo en la Argentina. Si bien el lenguaje inclu-sivo es un fenómeno que viene gestándose desde hace tiempo en español, en los últimos años adquirió mayor relevancia y pasó a ser centro de discusiones educativas, lingüísticas y sociales. Mientras numerosos colectivos y actores so-ciales abogan por su uso generalizado, varias instituciones y figuras públicas se posicionan en contra. Debido a esto, nos proponemos reflexionar acerca del lenguaje en general y las distintas lenguas particulares como medios de comunicación y configuración de la identidad y como espacios de lucha por el sentido. Con este fin y desde un posicionamiento favorable a estas nuevas for-mas lingüísticas, abordamos la temática desde múltiples aspectos –gramatical, discursivo, político, psicológico–, ya que creemos que el lenguaje inclusivo es un fenómeno complejo que necesita un abordaje multidisciplinario para poder comprenderse cabalmente. Así, en primer lugar, definimos qué se entiende por lenguaje inclusivo y cuáles son las estrategias propuestas y sus usos, para luego exponer dónde y cómo surgieron, y cómo se posicionan los principales actores sociales e institucionales. A su vez, mostramos cómo dicho fenómeno incide en el procesamiento lingüístico, describimos cómo contrasta con el uso del masculino genérico, y realizamos un breve repaso por las investigaciones que, en distintas lenguas, muestran que el uso del masculino “universal” no produce efectos genéricos sino específicos. Finalmente, damos lugar a algunas experien-cias particulares sobre cómo impacta el uso del lenguaje inclusivo en la vida de quienes habitan por los márgenes de la norma hétero masculina. De esta forma, demostramos que es viable e importante promover usos inclusivos en la lengua.
dc.description.abstractenThis paper presents the main debates and reflections on the use of gender-inclusive language in Argentina. Although this is a phenomenon that has been developing in Spanish for some time, it has acquired greater rele-vance recently and has become the focus of educational, linguistic, and social discussions. While numerous groups and social actors advocate its generalized use, a range of institutions and public figures are against it. Because of this, we attempt to reflect on various doubts and beliefs about language in gene-ral and particular languages as a means of communication and configuration of identity, as well as a space for the struggle for meaning. To this end, and from a position in favor of these new linguistic forms, we approach the sub-ject from multiple –grammatical, discursive, political, psychological– aspects, since gender-inclusive language is a complex phenomenon that needs a multidisciplinary approach to be fully understood. First, we define what is meant by gender-inclusive language and what the proposed strategies and their uses are, and then we explain where and how they emerged, and how the main so-cial and institutional actors are positioned. Simultaneously, we show how this phenomenon affects linguistic processing, describe how it contrasts with the use of the generic masculine, and briefly review the research that shows that the use of the "universal" masculine does not produce generic but rather spe-cific effects in different languages. Finally, we share some experiences on how the use of gender-inclusive language impacts the lives of those who live on the margins of heteronormativity. In this way, we demonstrate that promoting gender-inclusive uses in language is important and feasible.
