dc.description.abstract	Los relatos de la historia de la colonización de la América prehispánica dividen a los historiadores. La expresión ‘leyenda negra’ emerge como postura asumida por quienes cuestionan los relatos que caracterizan el proceso de colonización como uno violento. Así, sostienen que tales relatos han configurado una leyenda negra desprestigiando a los españoles, y afirman, en su defensa, que dicho proceso fue civilizador, de progreso y desarrollo en la renombrada América. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo contrastar la postura defensora del blanqueo de la historia de la colonización, en el marco de dos conjuntos de argumentos, esto es, de quienes defienden el proceso colonizador como uno con fines civilizadores, y de quienes consideran la ocurrencia de un proceso sistemáticamente violento, más aún cuando en los últimos años, parece haber recrudecido la defensa europea por el proceso de invasión y colonización. Se concluye afirmando que, los argumentos de la moción defensora del proceso colonizador, no son suficientes como para considerar la existencia de una leyenda negra, advirtiendo allí un intento por distorsionar la historia.
dc.description.abstracten	The accounts of the history of the colonization of pre-Hispanic America divide historians. The expression 'black legend' emerges as a position taken by those who question the accounts that characterize the colonization process as a violent one. Thus, they argue that such accounts have configured a black legend discrediting the Spaniards, and affirm, in their defense, that the process was civilizing, of progress and development in the renowned America. The purpose of this paper is to contrast the position defending the whitewashing of the history of colonization, within the framework of two sets of arguments, that is, those who defend the colonizing process as one with civilizing purposes, and those who consider the occurrence of a systematically violent process, even more so when in recent years, the European defense of the invasion and colonization process seems to have intensified. It concludes by affirming that the arguments of the motion in defense of the colonizing process are not sufficient to consider the existence of a black legend, warning that there is an attempt to distort history.
