dc.description.abstractEste artículo presenta una reflexión en torno a la idea de frontera, entendida como un espacio de expansión, donde termina lo conocido y comienza lo desconocido. En específico, se busca trabajar el concepto de frontera científica, como un tipo de límite que es asociado a un espacio determinado, el que es observado de acuerdo con ciertas condiciones que le otorgan una especificidad propia. En este caso, se analiza la Patagonia, sus condiciones materiales y los imaginarios que la componen. Mediante la revisión de las publicaciones científicas de alto impacto se busca mostrar las motivaciones y objetivos que los y las científicas tienen en sus estudios acerca de la Patagonia. En función de la base de datos de Web of Science se pretende identificar las tendencias de los trabajos más citados y los más recientes, intentando dilucidar qué elementos son los que más movilizan dichas investigaciones.
dc.description.abstract This paper reflects on the idea of the frontier, understood as a space of expansion, where the known is ends and the unknown begins. Specifically, it seeks to work on the concept of the scientific frontier as a type of limit associated with a limited space, which is observed according to a series of conditions that give it its specificity. In this case, we analyzed Patagonia, its material conditions, and the imaginary that compose it. Through the review of high-impact scientific publications, the aim is to show scientists’ motivations and objectives in their studies on Patagonia. Based on the Web of Science database, the aim is to identify the trends of the most cited and most recent works, trying to elucidate which elements are the ones that most mobilize this researches.
