Abstract
El artículo presenta hallazgos cuyo objetivo fue describir significados que otorgan al uso del celular estudiantes de la carrera de Pedagogía en Educación Diferencial de la Universidad Católica de Temuco, en el centro sur de Chile. El estudio se desarrolló desde el método cualitativo con alcances descriptivos. Se fundamentó desde el enfoque Sociedad-Red y la teoría crítica posmoderna. Se aplicó entrevistas semiestructuradas y grupos focales. Se concluye reflexionando sobre la relevancia que para los jóvenes universitarios tiene el teléfono móvil en su mundo de la vida cotidiana, relevando las
amenazas y oportunidades derivada de su multiuso en las aulas universitarias
This article presents findings whose objective was to describe the meanings that Special Education students from the Catholic University of Temuco, located in central southern Chile, give to the use of the mobile device. The study is developed from the qualitative method with descriptive scopes. It is based on the Network Society and the postmodern critical theory. Semi-structured interviews and focus groups were conducted. This paper concludes reflecting on the relevance that the mobile devices have for the young university students in their daily lives. Therefore, it relieves the threats and opportunities that are derived from its multipurpose in the university classrooms
