- This article reports the results of a bibliography review on the disproportionality of students from minority groups in special education. This is a descriptive-documentary research work, which analyses scientific and regulatory literature recovered from the Web of Science, SCOPUS, ERIC and Scielo databases. The results showed that, in western societies, students from voluntary and involuntary minority groups are excessively represented in special education as compared to students from dominant groups.
