Abstract
Este artículo aborda la situación actual de las poblaciones de la frontera norte de México y los desafíos que plantea a la evangelización de la Iglesia, concretamente en la vida de una parroquia fronteriza de la ciudad de Nogales, Sonora. Y justo ahí donde pareciera que el mensaje cristiano ha dejado de atraer, el nuevo rostro de cristianismo y de Iglesia que se diseñó a partir del Vaticano II sigue siendo la gran esperanza para echar a andar un nuevo tipo de Iglesia: aquel en el que se muestre un cristianismo vivo y orgánico, pleno y liberador y, por todo lo anterior, nuevamente convincente
the present article presents the current situation of populations along Mexico’s northern border and the challenges that it presents for the Church’s evangelization work, specifically in the life of a border parish in the city of Nogales, Sonora. And at the very moment when it would seem that the Christian message has lost its appeal, the new face of Christianity and the Church developed from Vatican II continues to offer a great hope for creating a new kind of Church, one which displays a living, organic Christianity, rounded and liberating, and therefore newly convincing
