A crucial realm to understanding the coloniality in the context of the current society deals with the role that media plays as a system of mediation and production of racist discourses. However, there is a lack of studies that establish significant articulations between coloniality and the communication process. Therefore, this work is intended to contribute to a theoretical discussion which, from the social mediation theory and the discourse studies, it can contribute to understanding the way that the Coloniality operates in the hegemonic mass media.
