The objective of the study was to identify, describe and analyze the types, forms of access, use and perception that students and teachers from the degree programme in Sociology of the Catholic University of Temuco have of the Information and Communication Technologies in the teaching- learning process. The main results indicate that ICT have a number of facilities in the teaching learning process from the perspective of the student and the teacher. However, the teachers question ICT as a principal and necessary tool in all areas of education;, on the other hand, the students consider that their use is increasingly necessary in the subjects. It is concluded that the vision of ICT as a key tool in the teaching - learning process is different between teachers and students.
